Target Standard: WCAG 2.2 Level AA
ShortTrick is designed and continually tested to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
These international standards define how to make web content accessible to individuals with a broad range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, speech, language, and cognitive limitations. This statement reflects our engineering principles and testing regime, rather than a paid marketing badge from a third-party auditor.
What Is Measured Across Every Page
Rather than sampling a single page, we test accessibility rules systematically across every tool, guide, and category route:
- Contrast Ratios: Body text is verified at a minimum contrast of 4.5:1 against its background, and large headings at 3:1. Both light and dark color schemes are tested independently.
- Form Controls & Boundaries: Input fields, file drop zones, and button borders maintain at least 3:1 contrast against surrounding surfaces so interactive components remain immediately recognizable.
- Touch Target Sizing: Interactive buttons, toggles, and icons provide a minimum touch target area of at least 40×40 pixels on mobile viewports to prevent mis-taps.
- Semantic Heading Hierarchy: Each page uses exactly one
<h1>heading, followed by properly ordered, non-skipping<h2>and<h3>section elements. - Responsive Zoom & Reflow: The layout reflows seamlessly from 320 px up to 2560 px viewports without horizontal scrolling. Form inputs maintain 16 px font sizes on touch devices to prevent unwanted mobile zoom-ins.
- Keyboard Navigation & Focus Rings: Every interactive element can be reached using the
Tabkey and triggered viaEnterorSpace. Active focus is indicated with high-visibility, solid focus rings rather than invisible outlines. - Respect for Reduced Motion: Decorative CSS keyframe animations and pulsing effects are automatically suppressed when the user enables
prefers-reduced-motionin their operating system settings.
Known Limitations & Visual Tools
Being honest and specific about limitations is far more useful than claiming universal perfection:
- Visual Preview Tools: A few tools are inherently visual—such as manual image crop selection, interactive color pickers, and watermark coordinate placement. While we provide numeric text inputs alongside visual controls wherever possible, certain visual interactions cannot be fully conveyed in audio speech alone.
- Dense Lists & Tool Names: In dense category views on narrow phone screens, long tool titles may use CSS text truncation with ellipsis. The full un-truncated name is always preserved in the accessible markup and accessible labels.
- Independent Specialist Audit: While our automated CI/CD checks catch the vast majority of structural, contrast, and ARIA issues, the site has not undergone an end-to-end evaluation by an independent human accessibility laboratory.
Supported Browsers & Technology
ShortTrick relies on standard web technologies—including HTML5, WAI-ARIA, CSS3, and JavaScript/WebAssembly. Because file processing occurs client-side in browser memory, a modern, standards-compliant browser is required.
We officially support recent versions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.
How to Report an Accessibility Barrier
If you encounter an accessibility barrier or an unlabelled interactive control on ShortTrick, we want to hear from you.
Please email our operator at contact@shorttrick.co.in with:
- The web address (URL) of the page where you hit the barrier;
- A brief description of what you were trying to accomplish;
- The browser, operating system, and assistive technology (e.g. NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, or TalkBack) you were using.
Detailed reports are treated with high priority and investigated directly by our development team.
