No Cookies Are Set Anywhere
An HTTP cookie is a small file a website instructs your web browser to store on your disk and re-transmit automatically with every subsequent network request to the server.
ShortTrick sets zero cookies—first-party, third-party, session, or persistent. You can confirm this independently at any moment:
- Open your browser’s Developer Tools (press
F12or right-click and select Inspect). - Navigate to the Application or Storage tab.
- Expand the Cookies category for
https://shorttrick.co.in. - You will see an empty table with 0 cookies recorded.
What Is Stored Locally Instead
Instead of sending cookies across the network, ShortTrick uses your browser’s isolated Local Storage API to save two non-identifying user interface preferences.
Local storage values remain exclusively on your computer, tablet, or phone. They are never transmitted over the internet to our servers or accessible to third-party domains.
| Key Name | Sample Value | Purpose & Technical Necessity |
|---|---|---|
shorttrick_theme | light or dark | Remembers whether you toggled light or dark theme so the site does not flash bright white on subsequent visits. |
shorttrick_prefs | JSON state | Saves non-identifying tool workspace preferences (such as your last selected image format or compression level). |
How to Inspect & Clear Storage
Because these preferences live inside your browser’s local storage, you have 100% control over them at all times:
- Clear Site Data: In your browser settings under Privacy & Security, clearing cookies and site data for
shorttrick.co.inremoves both keys instantly. - Incognito / Private Browsing: If you browse in a private window, local storage values are automatically deleted the moment you close the tab.
- Zero Breakage: Deleting these keys causes no issues. The site will simply fall back to your operating system’s default light/dark preference.
No Third-Party Tracking or Ad Beacons
Unlike conventional tool websites, ShortTrick does not embed third-party tracking scripts, behavioral ad networks, or social media like/share iframes that write cookies on other domains’ behalf.
For comprehensive details on how we safeguard your data and how the few internet-connected tools handle rate-limiting, please refer to our full Privacy Policy.
Our Commitment & Future Changes
If ShortTrick ever introduces a feature that requires cookies in the future, this policy will be immediately revised, and an explicit, granular consent modal will be presented to you before any non-essential cookie is set.
