Requests go out as HEAD so no page body is downloaded, falling back to GET for the servers that answer HEAD with 405 or 501 — which is what stops a working page being reported as unreachable. Up to fifty URLs run in one pass, six concurrently, and anything past the fiftieth is cut with the cap stated in the result. A line that is not an absolute http or https URL is skipped and counted rather than guessed at, results are grouped into 2xx, 3xx, 4xx, 5xx and unreachable, and nothing is cached between runs, so repeating a check is a fresh measurement.
The URL list is posted to ShortTrick's inspect route and our server makes the requests, so each site on your list records a hit from us rather than from you. Those requests carry only our own User-Agent — no cookies, no referrer, nothing taken from your browser. The route refuses private and reserved addresses, so an internal hostname on the list comes back blocked instead of probed, and nothing is kept once the results are returned.
