Word to PDF

Not offered here — a faithful DOCX conversion needs a real Word layout engine

This one is not offered

ShortTrick does not convert Word documents to PDF. Deciding where every line, table and page break falls needs Word’s own layout engine, which this site does not run.

About Word to PDF — Free Online Tool

ShortTrick does not convert Word files to PDF. This page exists to say so plainly and to explain what gets in the way.

A DOCX is a zipped set of XML parts that records content and intent — styles, table definitions, a paragraph marked "keep with next" — rather than a finished page. Where each line wraps and each page breaks is settled at render time from font metrics, hyphenation rules and how a table fits the space left on the sheet, which is why the same file paginates differently in Word, in LibreOffice and in Google Docs. Nothing in this browser reproduces those decisions, and a converter that guessed at them would move your page breaks, split your tables and reflow a CV you had spent an hour fitting onto one page.

There is no file picker on this page, so no document is opened, nothing is read, and nothing is uploaded.

Export to PDF from the application that owns the document — Word, LibreOffice Writer and Google Docs all do it correctly — then bring that PDF back here to merge, split, compress, rotate or watermark it.

When to use it

Use this page to understand the limitation. Word itself exports to PDF directly, and the PDF tools here will then merge, split, compress or rotate the result locally.

How it works

A DOCX stores content and intent, not a finished page. Pagination depends on font metrics, hyphenation and table fitting, which is why two renderers produce different page counts.

Why an approximate conversion is not useful

A converter that reflows your document shifts page breaks, splits tables and moves images. For a CV or a contract that is not a minor difference.
