SQL Minifier

SQL Minifier removes the comments from a query and collapses it onto one line, ready to sit inside a string in your code.

Double-dash line comments and /* */ blocks are deleted, then every run of whitespace becomes a single space, so a carefully formatted statement returns as one continuous line. The stripping is purely textual and knows nothing about string literals, and that is the trap: a literal containing a double dash — a URL, a hyphenated code, a date range written with two dashes — loses the rest of its line along with the supposed comment. Read the output of any query whose values contain dashes or a slash-star sequence before you paste it back.

The query is processed in the page, so a statement carrying real table names and literal values is not sent to a server.

Embedding a query in a code string or a config value, getting a statement into a single log line, pasting SQL into a shell command, and stripping a previous developer's notes out of a migration before sharing it.
