How to Use Image Blur Tool Online: Step-by-Step Guide
Apply a real Gaussian blur across a whole picture, at a radius you set
About Image Blur Tool — Free Online Tool
Image Blur applies a Gaussian blur across a picture at a radius you choose, from a slight softening up to an unrecognisable smear.
This is a real separable Gaussian convolution over the pixel data — a horizontal pass then a vertical one, with sigma set to half the radius you pick — and the result is baked into the file, not a CSS filter that only looks blurred on screen. The limitation that matters: the blur covers the entire image. There is no brush and no region selection, so it cannot blur one face in a group photo; for hiding part of a picture, crop to the part first.
The convolution runs on your own hardware and the image is not uploaded.
Making a soft background plate for a title card, obscuring a whole screenshot being used as an illustration, softening a texture that will sit behind text, and producing a blurred placeholder to show while the full image loads.
Also known as: blur photo · censor picture · gaussian blur
When to use it
Good for soft background plates behind a title, low-detail placeholders to show while a full image loads, and taking the sharpness out of a texture that has to sit under text.
How it works
Sigma is derived from the radius you choose, then a one-dimensional kernel runs along one axis and the result along the other. Alpha is blurred with the colour channels, and pixels at the border are clamped to their nearest neighbour.
It Covers The Whole Frame
There is no brush and no rectangular mask here — every pixel in the picture gets the same treatment, so one face in a group photo cannot be singled out. To obscure a single detail, crop the picture down to that detail first and blur the crop.
