Remove EXIF Data from Image

Remove EXIF Data strips every metadata tag out of a photo — GPS coordinates, camera and serial numbers, software, timestamps — and hands back a clean image.

This is not a surgical edit of the header. The image is decoded to raw pixels and re-encoded from scratch, and the browser encoder writes no EXIF, IPTC or XMP block at all, so there is nothing left for a determined reader to find. Before that, the file is parsed once so the result can tell you how many tags were there and whether GPS was among them. Two consequences: re-encoding to JPEG is a fresh lossy pass, so keep your original as the archive copy, and because the browser applies the orientation flag while decoding, the picture stays the right way up even though that tag is gone.

Both the inspection and the re-encode happen on your device, so a photo you are cleaning for privacy reasons is not uploaded in order to be cleaned.
