Purchase Order Generator

Purchase Order Generator writes the order you are placing with a vendor as a PDF: a PO number, the date you need delivery by, the items and quantities, and the total you are committing to pay.

The headings are the mirror of an invoice — your side reads "Ordered by" and the vendor is the addressee, the second date slot is "Required by", and the closing line asks the vendor to confirm both the order and that date in writing. Item codes are optional, and the code column appears on the table only when at least one line carries one, so an order of plain descriptions is not left with an empty column. What comes out is a document and nothing more: the PO number defaults to PO- plus the last six digits of the current timestamp, which makes it unique but not a continuous series, and there is no approval routing, no vendor record and no matching of the order against what is later delivered or billed. Whether an accepted order forms a binding contract depends on your agreement with the vendor and the law that governs it, neither of which this tool establishes, checks or advises on.

The order is generated in the browser. Vendor names, negotiated unit prices and delivery addresses are not uploaded, so a price agreed under an NDA does not pass through anyone else on its way to a PDF.

Placing a stock order a supplier can confirm against, giving a vendor a reference number to quote on the invoice they send back, recording an approved purchase for the accounts file, and putting a required-by date in writing.
